As Salomon Kalou and fellow Ivorian Didier Drogba have now left Chelsea and with Didier being arguably the best footballing export from Africa here is a list of every African to have played for Chelsea.

As of January 2014 the table was updated to include Victor Moses,  and new signings Bertrand Traore, Samuel Eto’o and Mohamed Salah.

Joel Kitamirike has British citizenship and played for England U15s and was later included in the Ugandan squad for the 2006 World Cup but dropped out due to Ugandan immigration laws regarding his dual nationality so never played for his country of birth.
Derek Smethhurst never played international football, but did play for Chelsea during the  the 1970-71 European Cup winners’ Cup success and later played for the Seattle Sounders in America.
