Everthing Ghanaian and even more in one place

Samini-Shatta Wale ‘Beef’ Is A Publicity Stunt – Kojo Antwi

Music industries all over the world have experienced lots of controversies which in a way promote the artistes involved or bring their careers to an end. Dominant among these is a feud between artistes – one wants to prove his superiority over the other.Undoubtedly, the most talked about feud in Ghana is that of Samini and Shatta Wale which has lasted for some months now. The two dancehall artistes have been throwing punches at each other through music which have brought lots of tension between fans of both artistes.

With an exciting and successful musical career spanning over two decades, Kojo Antwi ‘Mr Music Man’ has disclosed that ‘beef’ between artistes in Ghana should not be taken serious because they are done to promote the artistes’ brand. He admitted in an interview with Dave Hammer on Hello FM that there are controversies in the music industry but it has never gotten to a point where musicians will fight or use gun on the other.
“The music industry has always experienced a healthy competition. The fans may think this guy and the other are fighting but they are all done to promote our products and images. Within us, nobody hates the other”
“When the two artistes that we believe are not in good terms meet at a show, one wishes the supposed enemy all the best in his performance before he goes on stage but their fans will believe the two don’t see eye to eye”
The Kora Awards award-winner advised the media to slow down the rate at which they heighten controversies between artistes especially the Samini -Shatta Wale and Kontihene- Kwaw Kese prolong and bitter quarrel.
“I plead with the media on issues happening in the industry between Samini and Shatta Wale, Kontinehe and Kwaw Kese where the media fuel things, lets slow it down a little bit. Let’s not copy the gangster lifestyle of Americans because we are now building our music industry, we don’t even have a music industry.”
“Musicians, radio stations and it presenters who want to be famous through these controversies should slow down a bit to make the industry grow well” he added.
Speaking about the sudden death of Kwaw Kese’s manager, Fennec Okyere, the musician noted for his diligent perfectionism said the death has brought fear into most entertainers in Ghana.
“How Fennec was stabbed has brought fear into all of us in the entertainment industry. I mean radio presenters, musicians, actors, writers and all stakeholders”
